G'day, I'm writing an article for our 150th and would like to give anyone the chance to give me information, anacdotes or help with this. Most of my information so far is taken from the association website (many thanks to you) and the Battery website, please feel free to contact me with anything you feel is relevant. My defence e-mail is nathan.grandin@defence.gov.au or I can be contacted on my work e-mail which is nathan.grandin@au.bartercard.net. I am interested to hear all stories especially funny moments from our illustrious history. Thanks in advance, Nathan.

Greetings Cherie

The Sebastopol gun in City Park has a plaque in front of it - I researched what I could for the opening by LTCOL Sir George Crawford; now with the internet there maybe another source to find information.
The Community History section of the Queen Victoria Museum & Art Gallery at Inveresk may have more info ask for Mr Ross Smith, he maybe able to assist.
I am sorry I am unable to recall any further details but if I do I will contact you again.

Kind regards Norm Andrews Sec RAA Assoc of Tas

HI Neil

I am sure I have sent a reply but in case it has been lost in cyberspace
Firstly we would be more than happy to pass on what we know of 2/8th Aust Fd Regt Assoc and the book of the wartime unit with a couple of stories in it about "Chief"

Cecilie has just moved into a nursing home at Norwood, she is fine just very frail.

Please contact me on my email address of forfar@gmail.com I usually look at it most days.

Kind regards Norm Andrews

G'day Norman
I am the youngest son of Roger and Merle. I have been slowly piecing together the family history and stumbled upon this site yesterday. I was looking at the 2-8 AFR Assoc and recognized your name as reference to Chief. I was hoping to catch up with you about 18 months ago while visiting my cousin, S Kidd, in Devonport. S Kidd is Jean Garrard, nee Kidd's, great nephew. Time was against me so i didn't contact you. I have a copy of Chief's AWM service records and a small photo of him having a beer n smoke in Palestine with some mates. Also a photo in uniform from around the early 1930's (coronation?). But other then that, nothing at all. Chiefs service records don't give a detailed account of any action he saw. I would be very interested in purchasing a history of the Regiment, especially anything with reference to Chief. Also I would like to become an affiliate member if possible, but the application form wont load for unknown reasons.
